New Felt Roofs

Felt is still a hard-wearing covering for flat roofs in Boston Spa, especially roofs that see regular foot traffic. A mineral cap sheet finishes the roof, and each upstand and edge is dressed and sealed.

Evian Roofing lays felt roofs across Wetherby, Tadcaster and Garforth too. Call 0800 158 8240.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Us for a Felt Roof

Felt roofs in Boston Spa laid in bonded layers on sound decking.

Felt roll being torched onto new decking

Layers Bonded Properly

Each layer is torched and bonded to the one beneath, so the roof acts as one covering, not a stack of sheets.

Handles Foot Traffic

Torch-on felt with a mineral cap copes well where a roof is stepped on for gutters, windows or maintenance.

The Fall Corrected

Dips where water sat are taken out at the decking, so rain runs off rather than pooling on the new felt.

Owner on Every Job

Evian Roofing is owner run, so the person who quotes your felt roof is the one responsible for the work.

How Do I Get a Quote for Felt Roofs in Boston Spa?

What Is a Torch-On Felt Roof?

A torch-on felt roof is built up from layers of bitumen felt that are heated with a torch so each layer bonds to the one below, finished with a mineral cap sheet that protects it from the weather.

Can My Felt Flat Roof Be Repaired?

Local splits, blisters and lifted seams can often be repaired if the decking underneath is sound. When the felt has worn out across the roof or the boards have gone soft, a new roof is the better option.

Is Felt or Rubber Better for a Flat Roof?

Felt is tough underfoot and suits roofs with regular foot traffic. Rubber membrane goes down with few or no joints and stays flexible in hot and cold weather. The right choice depends on the size, shape and use of your roof.

Why Does My Felt Roof Have Bubbles in It?

Blisters usually form when moisture or air is trapped between layers or under the felt. Small blisters can sometimes be repaired; widespread blistering normally means the covering is reaching the end of its life.
